On the positive side, everything (including draft classes) appears editable and there's just enough people in the community out there who'll want to try to shape these classes up as realistically as possible. I'm expecting the former, and I think I'm okay with that, because I don't think this mode would ever happen if we had to wait until enough players came on board. The guest commentary with Shaq and Garnett felt a lot more natural. Used to get unique dialogues too (like if you get Melo out of OKC years ago). 2K actually has nice references to previous games you played, or even seasons (they make comments on who you played), but is rare. They'll get discussions but you can tell 2K only wants positives about them (ie rule change, lowering age entry). Nitpicky, but commentary topics are very unnatural. Introducing FIFA's in-game updates about concurrent matches would be cool. No special intros, commentary, and we literally get a horrible slideshow to show players celebrating. But at best, 2K only change what the scoreboard looks like (christmas lights/MLK badge). Holiday games are huge in the NBA (MLK and Christmas mainly). Player intros used to start properly, but was shortened recent years. Some off the top of my head:īroadcast variety (which they're fixing this year). It's just so close to being great that the small things stand out so much more. NBA Spreadsheet Simulator 22 was probably my most played game over the past year, despite my complaints. I want to be the 2012 Thunder, offering Durant a shade under the max so that I can afford to re-sign the rest of my young core, but locking him in for the next five years. I mean, yes, it does kinda make teambuilding easier when you have them on a smaller deal, but the whole reason I play this and feel so passionate about it is because I both want a challenge and some realism. Every single time you offer them a bag on day 1 (which, again, I'd rather offer at the end of year 3 like in the real NBA but for some reason I can't) and they accept it, on day 2 you see they also accepted the QO, and on day 3 the original contract is gone and the QO is the only thing. Right - but the thing is, it happens every time with an RFA. Which sucks cause 2k's franchise modes was the best out of all major sports games (2k19 goated for traditional MyGM). I just want the basic stuff cleaned up so I can have a real long term sim. If he doesnt sign an extension this offseason, Heat has to wait till the next offseason to extend. Or the fact that for some reason, you can never sign rookies to an extension - it's always disabled the first day of their fourth season. Just used this to accidentally sign Ant for 1/$17mil even tho I offered him 4/$xmil. IIRC, this happens since if your own player has a QO active and you offer the player a contract, the menu has you matching the offer using the QO. That, and the long-running bug where your restricted free agents will suddenly switch to accepting the qualifying offer. Also, CPU teams can easily sign them for cheaper (realistic deals), while if you do it, the player gets insulted. The last days of FA have they reducing the salary they wan (but not much). The thing is, they kinda do, but not the way 2K intended lol. Ree Agents don't relax their salary requirements even when every team has no space, and then the CPU teams wind up signing studs to the minimum on the first day of every offseason. On potential/improvements, will players still be the same players they end up as? (ie would Wade still take paycuts to help the Heat FO?). Most teams running out of cap/no future planning so you got 90 rated guys getting signed for the min day 1. (Motorsport Manager fans out there know about getting screwed by AI deciding on rules lol).įew things I can see 'breaking' this are player potential/improvements and contracts.ĪI contracts have never really been balanced well. Having the old school broadcast is so cool.Įxpanded rule changes are very nice, but hoping there's an automated option to keep them the same, ie rules introduced as they were irl. 2K's been lacking in that aspect for years, but the guests and rotating casters for the past few have been nice additions. The best thing so far I love is the different broadcasting. I've been easily pulling 400+ on MyLeague/GM/MyNBA since 2k17 and I love this.
